Ashton Court, Bristol, 2018. The site of a mansion house as long ago as the 11th century, Ashton Court has undergone repeated alterations over the following centuries. The house served as a amilitary hospital during the First World War and was purchased by Bristol City Council in 1959 after falling into disrepair. The surrounding parkland was designed by Humphry Repton in the early 19th century.
