When a child is born in some areas of India, the Dyback or Dybukk makes calculations about their futures; here, he is supposedly fortelling an eclipse; Franz Balthazar Solvyns was a Flemish marine painter and travelling artist who lived in Calcutta (Kolkota) between 1791-1803; Solvyns is considered one of the early pioneers in the field of print-making in India in the 18th century.
