US-Mexican War 1846 - 1848; Battle of Buena Vista; Battle of Angostura; 23rd February, 1847; Winfield Scott (1786 - 1866); Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna (1794 - 1876); US Army were heavily outnumbered by the Mexican army and used artillery to repulse them; the Mexican Army eventually withdrew.
