'Moritz Von Oranien', (1933). Portrait of Maurice of Nassau (1567-1625), who became stadtholder of Holland and Zeeland in 1585 after the murder of his father. He took over the military leadership of the revolt of the Dutch provinces against Spain, securing several notable successes. He was sovereign Prince of Orange from 1618, on the death of his eldest half brother, Philip William. After a miniature by Balthazar Gerbier.
