'Jaques Etienne Montgolfier und Joseph Michael Montgolfier', (1933). Portrait of French inventor brothers Jacques Étienne Montgolfier (1745-1799) and Joseph Michel Montgolfier (1740-1810). The Montgolfiers are best known as pioneers of the hot air balloon. They also invented a process to manufacture transparent paper. After a miniature of 1783 by Louis Nicolas van Blarenberghe.
