'Napoleon II', (1933). Portrait of Napoleon II, Duke of Reichstadt, King of Rome (1811-1832), son of Napoleon Bonaparte I and his second wife Marie Louise. Napoleon II never actually ruled France, although he was briefly the titular Emperor of the French in 1815 after the fall of his father. He died of tuberculosis aged 21. After a miniature by Moritz Michael Daffinger. From "Gestalten Der Weltgeschichte", a book of cigarette-card portrait miniatures of figures in world history from the last four hundred years.
