Etruria Gas Works, Etruscan Street, Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, 1965-1968. In the years after the Second World War gas began to replace coal within the pottery industry, a trend that accelerated following the demise of coal-fired bottle kilns following the introduction of the Clean Air Act in 1956.
