Library, Museum and Art Gallery, Broad Street, Hereford, Herefordshire, c1955-c1980 Detailed view of the front facade of the public library, showing the wrought iron gate entrance, round niches with busts and the balcony on the first floor. The image shows part of the ground floor arcade, which has capitals enriched with carvings of foliage and animals, and focuses on the central arch, with has semi-circular niches on the facade and underbelly of the arch, with carvings of different animals in each one. Underneath the arch is a wrought-iron gate, and above the central arch, on either side, are round niches with carved busts of women. Further right the round panel shows a relief carving of a coat of arms. Part of the first floor can be seen, in particular the underside of a small balcony and the right side of the window arcade with pointed arches.
