St Michael's Church, Barton, Eden, Cumbria, c1955-c1980. Interior view of the church, showing the nave with a partial view of the north and south arcades, and through two low wide arches to the chancel. The church was first built in the 12th century, with later additions made in the 13th and 14th centuries. The image shows the interior of the church, looking from west to east, through the nave and towards the chancel. Separating the two components are two low wide arches underneath the central tower with smaller segmental arches on top. Before the arches is a wooden pulpit and a lecturn with eagle motif, and there is some woodden panelling and railings in the chancel in the background.
