'Pinnacled Tower of the Records Office from Clifford's Inn', c1935. View of part of the Public Record Office building on Chancery Lane in the City of London. It was designed by James Pennethorne. The PRO housed the national archives of the United Kingdom, including important historical documents such as the Doomsday Book, from 1838 until 2003, when it was merged with the Historical Manuscripts Commission to form The National Archives.
