'Joy for the Union', 1897. A tartan-clad Scottish piper with the symbols for pounds, shillings and pence on his bagpipes. In 1707, the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of Scotland were 'United into One Kingdom by the Name of Great Britain' under the Acts of Union.
