'London. Knightbridge', 1906. Equestrian statue of Lord Strathnairn in front of Harvey Nichols department store on the Brompton Road, London. The statue was unveiled in 1895. The first Harvey Nichols store opened in 1831. Hand-coloured postcard, postmarked 'London, 2.30pm, May 30 06', reading: 'Ethel will not be home today, and I will not be home until late. [Signed] Fred. I have been on the 'phone with Ethel.' In the early 20th century it was possible to post mail in the morning and for it to be delivered later the same day.
