'Boadicea, Queen of the Iceni. (Animating the Britons to defend their country against the Romans)', (mid 19th century). Boudicca (c25-62 AD), queen of the British Celtic Iceni tribe, led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire in 60 or 61 AD. She died shortly after its failure, having supposedly poisoned herself. She is considered a British folk heroine. [John Tallis & Company, London & New York]
