'Le Chateau De Vincenne', 1723. Aerial view of the Château de Vincennes, a royal fortress in the town of Vincennes, east of Paris. It began as a hunting lodge, constructed c1150 in the forest of Vincennes for Louis VII. The castle was greatly enlarged in the later 14th century.
