Roman Corinthian columns, 1889. Examples of Corinthian columns from classical buildings in Rome: 1. Jupiter Stator Temple; 2. Temple of Vesta, Tivoli; 3. Temple of Antoninus and Faustina; 4. Portico of the Pantheon. In the Corinthian order, the capitals of the columns are decorated with acanthus leaves. From the 9th edition of the "Encyclopaedia Britannica", 1889.
