An exterior view of The Ship Inn and two adjacent cottages, on the western range of Newton Seahouses Square, seen from the south-east. The inn has two storeys and three irregular bays with the entrance off-set to the left and signs installed between the first floor windows. The cottages to the left have a single storey and attics, and have three irregular bays each. The buildings are all whitewashed rubble with dressings and slate roofs. The inn and cottages date to the 18th century and were remodelled in the mid 19th century, although the inn may have some earlier material.
