Rothley Castle, Rothley, Northumberland, c1955-c1980. A general view of Rothley Castle, a folly built with random rubble by Daniel Garrett for Walter Calverley-Blackett in c1755. It has a roofless two storey central tower, with arched niches and cruciform slits. To the right is one of the two end towers, with a partial screen wall separating them, with five cruciform slits. These towers have three walls with arched niches, and an open wall facing he interior of the castle site. All of the towers have similar corbels.
