Partially collapsed sea defences, Hodbarrow Iron Mine, near Millom, Cumbria, c1968-c1980. A general view of some of the sea defences at Hodbarrow, showing a section of partially collapsed concrete walls, most likely in the water behind the outer sea barriers. Hodbarrow point, south of Millom, was used as an iron ore mine until the 1960s, when the mine was closed, and is now an RSPB nature reserve.
