'John Huss Condemned and Led To Execution', c1930. Jan Huss's priest's robes are removed (top); he is clothed as a heretic and led to the stake (below). 'From drawings in an account of 1417 of the Council of Constance'. Jan Huss (1369-1415), Czech priest, theologian and early Christian reformer, was burnt at the stake on 6 July 6 1415 in Konstanz, Germany. Considered the earliest church reformer, Huss was executed for heresy against the doctrines of the Catholic Church, including those on ecclesiology and the Eucharist.
