'King Henry VIII. Meeting The French King Francis at the Famous Field of the Cloth of Gold', 1520, (c1930). Lavishly decorated tents were constructed at the field of the Cloth of Gold, the meeting place near Calais in France, where Henry VIII of England and Francis I of France met to arrange an alliance between their countries in June 1520.
