'The Holy Shroud - Imprint of the Body: Front View', 1902. The Turin Shroud, claimed by some to be the burial cloth that Jesus was wrapped in after crucifixion, is now widely believed to be a hoax. It probably dates from the late 14th century, as attested by radiocarbon dating. From "The English Illustrated Magazine", Volume XXVII, April to September 1902. [T. Fisher Unwin, London, 1902]
