'Henry VII. and Perkin Warbeck's Wife', 1897. Lady Catherine Gordon, wife of pretender to the throne Perkin Warbeck, kneels sobbing at the feet of King Henry VII who is dressed anachronistically in uniform of the Napoleonic period. (Lady Catherine (c1474-1537) was imprisoned by Henry but was later freed and became lady-in-waiting to his wife, Elizabeth of York. Warbeck was hanged).
