'General Von Bernhardi', c1910), (1919). Portrait of Prussian general and military historian Friedrich Adam Julius von Bernhardi (1849-1930). In his "Germany and the Next War", published in 1911, Bernhardi argued that Germany had a right and responsibility to wage war to gain the power it deserved. The Allies considered the book a contributing cause of World War I. From "The History of the Great European War: its causes and effects", Vol. I, by W. Stanley Macbean Knight.
