Grainger Market, Newcastle upon Tyne, c1955-c1980. An interior view of Grainger Market, a covered market built in 1835, showing the west range, which has a cast iron roof with glass panels. The market was built in 1835 for Richard Grainger by John Dobson. The west range has a cast iron roof, with lattice work and glazed roof lights overhead, whist the other ranges are a grid with iron grilles over shops and a flat roof with plastered cross beams.
