Lemington Glass Cone, Northumberland Road, Lemington, Newcastle upon Tyne, c1955-c1980. A general view of the Lemington Cone, a tall brick cone built c1787 for the Northumberland Glass Company, with a scene of industrial buildings and towers in the background. The cone is now part of a factory and has had the upper courses renewed. It has five segmental arches at the base on the south and west sides, two of which are visible in the image. It is now the only surviving glasshouse on the Tyne.
