In the background the river Boivre empties into the Clain. A wooden bridge leads to the triangular Château de Poitiers, at Poitiers in western France, which was built for Jean de Berry. A page from the "Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry", a book of hours produced for Jean, Duc de Berry and commissioned from the Limbourg brothers. Made between c1412 and 1489, and regarded as one of the finest examples of European manuscript illumination, it is held at the Musee Condé, Chantilly, France. Published in "Verve - No. 7, Vol. II".
