'Building a Pyramid', 1890. Most Ancient Egyptian buildings were made of mud brick and limestone as readily available materials. Monumental buildings were made of post and lintel. The peak of pyramid building began with the late third dynasty and continued until roughly the sixth (c2325 BC).
