The disaster of the "Prométhée", 1932. 'La Catastrophe du "Prométhée"'. The French Navy submarine Prométhée (Prometheus) sank suddenly off the coast of Normandy on 7 July 1932. 62 of her 69 crew were lost, and the incident was a national disaster in France.
