A volcano erupts in Martinique, 1929. 'Un Volcan Se Réveille A La Martinique'. People grab belongings and flee as smoke and lava spew out of a volcano. Mount Pelée on the French Caribbean island of Martinique was dormant between 1905 and 16 September 1929 when it began to erupt again. The danger area was immediately evacuated by the authorities.
