Albrecht von Wallenstein, (1936). Wallenstein (1583-1634) was a Bohemian military leader who commanded the Catholic imperial armies during the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) until pressure from German princes persuaded the Habsburg emperor Ferdinand II to replace him with Count Tilly in 1630. He was assassinated after mounting a rebellion against the emperor in 1634. From "Bilder Deutscher Geschichte", (Pictures of German History), No.12, cigarette card album.
