The double Battle of Jena-Auerstedt, 14 October 1806, (1936). 'Doppelschlacht Bei Jena Und Auerstedt, 14 Oktober 1806'. The twin battles of Jena and Auerstedt were fought near the river Saale (in Germany), between the forces of Napoleon I of France and Frederick William III of Prussia. Prussian military leader Charles William Ferdinand, Duke of Brunswick (1735-1806) was blinded in the battle and died soon after.
