Heroic death of Schill's Eleven Officers, 16 September 1809, (1936). 'Heldentod Der Elf Schillschen Offiziere, 16 September 1809'. Prussian officer Ferdinand Baptista von Schill (1776-1809) led an unsuccessful revolution against French domination. Eleven of the officers who supported him were tried on Napoleon's orders and executed in Wesel, (Germany).
