Robert Baden-Powell at home with his dogs, c1929, (1935). English soldier Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, 1st Viscount Baden-Powell (1857-1941) became famous as the defender of Mafeking in the Boer War (1899-1902). He later founded the Boy Scouts (1908), Girl Guides (1910) and Wolf Cubs (1916). He is seen here in Scout uniform. From "The Silver Jubilee Book - The Story of 25 Eventful Years in Pictures".
