'The Battle of Evesham: De Montfort's Last Stand', (1265), 1890. Battle of Evesham (4 August 1265) one of two main battles in England's Second Barons' War. Simon de Montfort (c1208-1265) died fighting with rebel barons of future King Edward I, who led forces of his father, King Henry III.
