'The Prince of Wales' First Visit to the Colonies, 1860', (1901). Prince Albert Edward (1841-1910 future King Edward VII), visited Canada and the United States in 1860, the first tour of North America by a Prince of Wales. He watched Charles Blondin cross the Niagara Falls by highwire, and stayed at the White House in Washington DC.
