German prisoners from the SMS 'Magdeburg' in Petrograd, Russia, First World War, August 1914, (c1920). 'Russia's Naval Prisoners: survivors of the wrecked German Cruiser Magdeburg arriving at Petrograd [Saint Petersburg]'. The 'Magdeburg' ran aground at Odensholm, off the Estonian coast, on 26 August.
