Queensmere, Wimbledon Common, London, 1903. Queensmere Pond on Wimbledon Common in south-west London was created to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. Previously the area was known for duels, but a man was shot dead in 1838 and duelling was prohibited. Postcard.
