The HMT 'Royal Edward', c1915, (c1920). 'The British Transport 'Royal Edward', sunk by a German submarine in the Aegean, with a loss of over 1000 lives, August 14, 1915'. The HMT (Hired Military Transport) 'Royal Edward' was a passenger ship of the Canadian Northern Steamship Company, used for transporting Commonwealth troops.
