'Lord Melbourne', c1800, (c1884). William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne (1779-1848), British Whig educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge. Served as Home Secretary and twice as Prime Minister, dismissed by William IV in 1834, reappointed by Queen Victoria. His personal life was problematic.
