'Lord Brougham', c1840, (c1884). Henry Peter Brougham, 1st Baron Brougham and Vaux, (1778-1868), British statesman educated at Royal High School, Edinburgh and Edinburgh University. Lord High Chancellor during reign of William IV, played a prominent role in the Reform Act 1832 and Slavery Abolition Act 1833.
