'Edward G.E.L. Bulwer-Lytton, Lord Lytton', (1850), c1884. Edward Bulwer-Lytton (1803 -1873), English writer and politician educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. Served as a Whig MP (1831-1841) and a Conservative MP (1851-1866) when he was Secretary of State for the Colonies. Publicly denounced for infidelity by his wife Rosina Bulwer Lytton.
