'The destruction of Achan and his children in the valley of Achor', 19th century. Biblical scene, from Joshua 7: 24: 'And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor. "Why have you brought this trouble upon us?" said Joshua. "Today the LORD will bring trouble upon you!" And all Israel stoned him to death. Then they stoned the others and burned their bodies.' Achan had stolen gold and silver from Jericho, and so he, as well as his sheep, other livestock and his children were all killed by stoning. Engraving.
