'Christoph seized the manuscript book and the copy', (1907). As the young Bach sleeps, his older brother takes the music he has secretly been studying, overcome with 'anger and jealousy at the thought that he had been outwitted by his little brother. With his mouth curved into a cruel smile, Christoph seized the manuscript book and the copy, and, taking them from the room, hid them away in a new place where Sebastian could not possibly find them.' An episode from the life of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). From "Story-Lives of Great Musicians", by F.J. Rowbotham. [Wells Gardner, Darton & Co. Ltd, London, 1907]
