'Central Recess in the Principal Quadrangle', c1860s?, (1881). View of part of the facade of the Lecture Theatre on the north side of the quadrangle of the South Kensington Museum, (later renamed the Victoria & Albert Museum), in London. The terracotta columns, with alternating fluted and figured drums, were designed by Godfrey Sykes and made by Blanchard & Co. The building, in red brickwork with terracotta dressings, was designed by Captain Francis Fowke.
