Pastoral staff, early-mid 19th century, (1881). Etching of the head of a gilt metal crozier, an eccliastical item used by Christian clergy. It was made c1800-1862, and is listed as 'Continental'. The decoration features a figure kneeling before the Virgin and Child. From "The South Kensington Museum", a book of engraved illustrations, with descriptions, of the works of art in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (formerly known as the South Kensington Museum).
