Bahram Visits the White Domed Pavilion (recto); part of Khamsa of Nizami, Haft Paykar [Seven Portraits] Manuscript, c. 1560-1580. In this fine later depiction of a favorite story from the Khamsa, Shah Bahram Gur visits one of his wives in the white pavilion. After a day of lovemaking, she recounts a tale with dancing fairies, foreshadowed by the girl dancing to music in the foreground of the painting.
