Button-Based Situlas, 900-700 BC. The metalworkers of Luristan provided the Assyrian empire with elaborate bronze ornaments and vessels. These two situla are decorated symmetrically---one with ibexes drinking from an overflowing water jar; the other, with sphinxes.
