Plan of the Osaka First or Winter Campaign, 1614', 1903. The siege of Osaka was a series of battles by the Tokugawa shogunate against the Toyotomi clan. In November 1614, Tokugawa Ieyasu led his men across the Kizu River and began bombing Osaka castle defended by Sanada Yukimura.
