'Last Photograph of Sergeant Hamilton Fish, taken Alive, Friday, June 10th', Spanish-American War, 1898, (1899). American soldier Hamilton Fish II (1873-1898) on board the 'Saratoga' days before he was killed in Cuba. Fish was a sergeant in the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry, known as the 'Rough Riders'. From "The Little I saw of Cuba" by Burr McIntosh, with photographs by the author. (In 1898, American actor and journalist William Burr McIntosh went to Cuba to cover the Spanish-American War for "Leslie's Weekly" as a reporter and photographer). [F.
