'Graduates of '98', Spanish-American War, June 1898, (1899). US Army soldiers Lieutenant C. W. Exton, (20th Infantry), Crallé, Davis and Lafferty at Tampa Bay, Florida, USA, before leaving for Cuba: 'the last photograph taken of Lafferty and Davis...killed before San Juan...They had all four been graduated from West Point only a few brief weeks previously'.
